Max Paganelli is assistant professor at the Université de Montréal and pediatric hepatologist and researcher at Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center. Trained in medicine and pediatrics at the University of Rome, he completed a subspecialty training in hepatology in Brussels, Belgium, where he obtained a PhD from the Université catholique de Louvain. Recruited in 2015 to continue his research on the use of stem cells to model and treat liver diseases, Max’s lab focuses on pluripotent stem cell-derived 3D models and the use of liver organoids and biomaterials to treat liver failure. Financed by FRQS, CIHR and Stem Cell Network, author of several papers and patents, he recently founded the regenerative medicine start-up Morphocell Technologies Inc.
